If you weren't a prepper before watching the 2009 film, the Road, you may become one afterwards. It's difficult to believe that anyone could watch such a thought provoking film without reflecting upon it's meaning afterwards. For those who have not yet seen it, it follows the journey of a man and his son surviving in a post-apocalyptic USA. What I particularly like is the absence of any real explanation for the end of the world. Something catostrophic occurred, but what? Does it really matter? When communications fail and the grid goes down, truth would be lost for most of us. Only the basics of life would matter: food, water, shelter, fire. All of these are points of focus in the film.
